Run Commands
In my posts, I have been something mentioning the Run tool. You can access this tool by going to the Start menu and then clicking on Run. A small window will pop up, requiring you to write a command. This small window is very useful, as thanks to it, you can open programs or files directly from the Start menu. If you forgot where a program is located, you can try to open it from Run menu. Some of the most useful command that you can use in Run window include:
1. Calc – used to open a calculator. This is a very useful tool if you do not have access to your traditional calculator.
2. Cleanmgr – used to clean up hard drives.
3. Defrag – it is a defragmentation tool. Every computer user should defragment his PC from time to time.
4. Logoff – used to log off a computer. I am sure that many of you use it very often.
5. Shutdown – used to shutdown your computer.
Of course, there are many more commands. Those mentioned above are only the examples. Most geeks use the Run tool very often, as you can do a lot of things thanks to it, including modifying various settings using the msconfig command.
