The uniqueness of a language lover
In my experience, and as far as I have observed, when a person discovers that he or she is a languages person, their whole life changes forever. We might begin by chance, because our parents make us take a language course, or because it is included in our school program. The first lessons, we notice, that are very easy to us. Even though we start by learning the easiest things like colors, numbers, etc. we already know that something is happening, and each learning day that goes by is the proof that we are falling in love with languages.

One characteristic of language lovers is that we never think that what we know is enough. We are curious, introspective and very intuitive, since our language training has affixed the seal of social knowledge on our lively minds. We know how vast and complex a language can be, yet we love discovering new aspects of it, being able to link different languages and cultures, etc. We are just unique, and so, we are essential to our society.
Personally, I met many students in England, when they decided to take English Lessons in London. Unlike in other fields, the reasons that lead a person to study languages can be much different. Some students were doing so in order to have some solid ground before starting the course of studies to become a translator. Other’s motivations had to do with work. Either the companies where they were working were in expansion and seeking to attract new customers from abroad, or they were trying to go on business trips. I also met people who wanted to travel the whole world, for which they were about to take a year off. All those persons could have met in other lives. Yes, they all had that sparkle that led them to not make do in life, to seek more, because they knew that there was more to achieve. It was their attitude that triggered me to take French Lessons in London, where I continued to meet these amazing persons. Of course, there were other motivations apart from those I already mentioned. In fact, reasons are infinite, just like the opportunities we may encounter when we know one or more second language. I have been learning languages for 15 years now and can’t imagine how my life would be without them.
